Windsurfing: Hove Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: F5-6 Surf / Sea State: Good swell, head high + Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Sunny, some clouds Max Speed: Distance Covered:
I opted for Hove at around 4pm. Rigged up a 5.5m and had 2 or 3
uncontrollable but excellent runs in big surf and ever increasing wind!!
Derigged to a 4.5m Ezzy and it was game on! Another spanking session with
head high faces (and more?) out the back, stretching and ramping up across
the bumps in the sea bed. When the wind was strongest, the waves were the
best, plenty of swooping clew first down the line!! By 5:15 it had swung
almost full onshore, but it was still worthy with clean back side rides in
both directions and frontside turns heading back to shore. This wouldn't
normally be possible but I think the bigger swell was resulting in very
little wind on the face of the wave to backwind you etc. It was pretty
smooth between the waves, altogether very pleasant. 2 others out a king
alfred later. I packed up at 6:30pm as dark clouds were looming and wind
had dropped away a bit.
